God doesn’t just love you…

God doesn’t just love you…He’s madly in love with you!

All through the Old Testament and new we see God’s love, God’s desire to have a close relationship with man and God’s anger and dare I say hurt when God’s people leave Him for other gods.

Let’s look at the beginning. Genesis 3:8-9  “And they heard the voice of the Lord God walking in the garden in the cool of the day: and Adam and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the Lord God amongst the trees of the garden.  And the Lord God called unto Adam, and said unto him, Where art thou?”

I believe we can gather from this that this was a normal thing that happened in the evening. God, Adam and Eve walked with God. They talked, they communed with one another.  Even so much that God was wondering where Adam was when He didn’t “see” them. “Where are you?” He asked in verse 9.

Throughout the Bible I see that God wants our love to be #1 for Him and for Him only. Why? Why is He so jealous? Why? Because of His love, His passion for us! “For the LORD thy God is a consuming fire, even a jealous God.”– Deuteronomy 4:24

Wow! Do you see the passion there. A “consuming fire” a “jealous God” “Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the LORD thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me;” Exodus 20:5

This isn’t about a bunch of rules for the sake of you better not do this or that. No! This is the heart of God!!  Look at this: “They provoked him to jealousy with strange gods, with abominations provoked they him to anger.” Deuteronomy 32:16

God wants you for Himself. He’s wants all your love and no less. “For I am jealous over you with godly jealousy: for I have espoused you to one husband, that I may present you as a chaste virgin to Christ.” – 2 Corinthians 11:2

“You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your strength.” Deuteronomy 6:5

God doesn’t just love you, He’s crazy in love for you! How do I know? Look at this: “For this is what the LORD Almighty says: “After the Glorious One has sent me against the nations that have plundered you—for whoever touches you touches the apple of his eye—” Zechariah 2:8    He found him in a desert land, and in the waste howling wilderness; he led him about, he instructed him, he kept him as the apple of his eye. –Deuteronomy 32:10

You are the apple of God’s eye.  What is the apple of the eye?  Originally meaning the central aperture of the eye. Figuratively it is something, or more usually someone, cherished above others.  Wow, God cherishes you above others!

Have you ever been in love where you think about the person night and day? You want to be with that person, talk to that person, touch that person, love and be loved by that person. Yeah, that’s how God desires us!

Now, that we understand a little bit more of how God’s desire is towards us, our next question is, how is our desire for our Father? Do we desire Him more than our wife, or our husband or child. brother, sister, father or mother? “If any man come to me, and hate not his father, and mother, and wife, and children, and brethren, and sisters, yea, and his own life also, he cannot be my disciple.” – Luke 14:26

Do we love our car (which could turn into an idol) more than God? Do we love any of our stuff or all our possessions more than our Father? If we do, then we are turning our stuff into an idol. God does not accept idol worship. It’s totally unacceptable to God! It’s committing adultery against God!

“You shall not make for yourself an idol in the form of anything in heaven above or on the earth beneath or in the waters below. You shall not bow down to them or worship them; for I, the Lord your God, am a jealous God, punishing the children for the sin of the fathers to the third and fourth generation of those who hate me, but showing love to a thousand [generations] of those who love me and keep my commandments.”- Exodus 20:4-6

Again this about our heart and God’s heart. Not about a bunch of laws of what we can and cannot do.

We Born again believers are like the bride of Christ! Hard for us men to conceive totally, but it’s one way the Bible describes our relationship to Him. As His future bride, He wants you to be a virgin, pure, not touched by anyone or anything else. Reserved just for Him. Anticipating His return for you! Yes, He is coming for you because He’s in love with you. He wants you to be with Him forever  because He loves you so much!! And He wants you to love Him back so very much.

Ask God today as I have, to renew your love for Him. To be faithful to Him, to love Him the way He loves you. He wants all of you. Surrender your heart to Him and feel the love of our Father deep in your heart, see it all around you. His mercy and love endures forever! (Psalms 106:1, Ps 136:26, Ps 107:1, Ps 118:29, Ps 118;2, Ps 100:5, 1 Chron 16:34)

God bless you and may your life be filled with more Wealth and Riches in every area,
