Religion is one of the best inventions of the Devil.

Religion is one of the best inventions of the Devil. Let me explain. Religion is an outward experience, which is the opposite of a relationship with God that is an inward thing. I’ll give you a few examples. I go to a fast food place, let’s just say McDonald’s since it’s so well known. I go inside, order what I want, and eat a cheeseburger and fries. I just experienced McDonald’s. Just because I went there and ate a burger doesn’t make me a burger (although it might have an effect on me later if I eat too many times at McD’s). When you go to church, let’s call it Grace Chapel. When you go to Grace Chapel, you go inside, sit down and hear some singing and some preaching. The service ends, and you go home. You just experienced hearing the word of God and singing about Him at Grace Chapel (replace the name with the church name you are going to).  It didn’t make you a Christain. As a matter of fact, you can go to Grace Chapel every Sunday for thirty years, and maybe even become a member of Grace Chapel, give your tithes, and go out and help the Indians on the Reservation build a building or something like that, but it still has not made you a Christian. Just because you “hear” many sermons, listen to many Gospel songs, and even give your Tithes and offerings and do what is considered good, you are only having an outward experience. Outward experiences only change us outwardly. It’s not until we start and continue a relationship with God that we BECOME a Christan. That’s what Jesus was talking about when He said “A man must be born again to see the Kingdom of Heaven.” How do you become Born Again? By putting your trust (the King James Bible uses the word “believe.” That word believe means to put your trust in. You put your trust in Jesus the Christ by surrendering your life to Him. What does that entail? It means His will, not your own. OUCH. Are you starting to feel the Spirit convicting you? That is why we are required to “repent” or turn from our sins, and ask God to forgive us of all our sins. When we ask Jesus into our lives, He will by the Holy Spirit. Not only that the Bible tells us that when we repent and ask God to forgive us, He actually does! He forgives all our sin. He cleanses us of all our sin! We become as white as snow in His eyes from that point on. Isn’t that amazing and wonderful? Jesus said to cast all your cares upon Him, for He cares for you. God loves us so much! You will find joy in a relationship with God. You will not find that joy in an outward experience. Getting to know Him more and more each day of your life, is sweeter than anything you could ever experience. No wonder the Bible says “The joy of the Lord is our strength.” Knowing Him makes us strong. Knowing Him makes us rich. Religion is selfish. When you’re religious, you just think about selfish things. When you have a relationship with God, you think about Him and you think about others. You love Him and you love others because He loves you and He loves every single person.  As your relationship grows with God, so does your love for Him and others. There is no way to love God and hate others because of Gods heart for others. The Bible says if you say you love God but hate your brother, you are a lier. Why? Because God does not hate people. He loves people and when you love God, that love He has starts to grow more and more in you until you become like Him in loving others. You can’t help it! Start with loving God, then your family. Then those outside your family. Then, oh boy; here it is; your enemy. You know, those rotten people “who don’t deserve it”. The truth is, none of us deserve Gods love. God first loved us! And when we draw near to Him, He draws near to us. And has He draws near to us, we draw near to others, even those who are hard to love with our own love. But God’s love never fails. Let His love fill you up so much that it overflows to the world. My cup overflows! Not to boast, but to heap it on others in whatever manner they need.

Stop pretending you love others and start doing it. You go to church and say hello and smile and heck you might even hug others, but you don’t contact them during the week. They are your “church friends”. Stop the little clicks! Stop the selfishness. Get outside the walls of your church and live the sermons you’ve been hearing all these years. LIVE IT! Do it! Breathe it! Be it! Be Jesus to this dark and hurting world. Jesus said no one lights a candle and puts it under something and hides it. You light a candle to see! Jesus has lighted you so others can see HIM. Don’t be ashamed of Jesus, because if you are, He will be ashamed of you. Ask God that you speak boldly as the Spirit of God leads you to do so. Let His light shine in you as bright as it possibly can. This world needs a light. The light of Jesus in YOU. Be that light. Love others through action, not by just words. Get off your butt and do something. Quit just going to Church and Bible study. Why are you going and not reaching out to others like Jesus did and does? Remember, when you are persecuted for His sake, He calls you blessed.

So, let’s throw the Devil made religion out the religious door, and start living as Christ has called us to live.

He said, “You will know them by their love.” Start this very moment and ask God to fill you with His love so much that is starts pouring out to others. To your family, to your friends, to those you don’t know, and to those that don’t know Jesus along with those that think they do but are just religious.
