Sharing a tip from my friend Mirdza
Make realistic goals and have an action plan to achieve them. Most people don’t accomplish their goals because they don’t have any. They simply say “I need to lose 50 pounds” or “I want to lose 30 pounds”, but they don’t have any goals set for the month, nor do they commit to an action plan to help them achieve what they want to accomplish. So, my challenge to you is to decide what your goals are this month, write them down in a notebook or in your computer, and then decide HOW you will achieve these goals by the end of the month. Once you have DECIDED on an action plan, COMMIT to it and tell someone else about it so they can hold you to it, and you will most definitely SUCCEED.
May you have a wonderful fit, healthy and energetic week!
So, let’s break this simple but yet GREAT advice down:
Let’s say you have a goal to lose 50 pounds total. So this is the way it would look WRITTEN DOWN in your action planner:
Goal: Lose 40 Pounds
By: December 31st 2012
Jan 2012 4 days of each week at 9:00AM I’m going to work out for 45 min at the gym
Mon-Fri 10,000 Steps a day (measured by Pedometer)
Wed: Cardio and upper body strength training
Thur: Cardio and lower body Strength Training
Goal: Lose 3.3 pounds min.
Feb: same, etc. etc.
Notice the phrase Mirdza uses “Commit to it”. This is KEY!! No use making goals and plans if you are not going to commit to it. It might be the hardest part (I know it is for me) but the key here IS to commit to it and schedule it ahead of time so there are no excuses.
Then she uses something that most of us would rather skip over. Get an accountability partner. Someone in your life that will hold you accountable for your actions (or inaction’s).
She’s so right! Do this step by step and you are going to succeed!
This can be in anything you want to accomplish. Weight loss, your business growth, your spiritual growth.
Start today with this action plan and get busy!
