Living Intentional

Living Intentional

Most people I’ve met live as reactionaries. In other words they go about their day reacting to what ever may come. The phone rings, they react. What ever happens they respond to. No plans, no goals for the day.  It’s like I ask people “How are you doing?” and they answer with “Just surviving” or “Just getting by” or even worse “New day, same sh*t.”

I actually learned from an assistant supervisor when I was in my 20’s when I worked for the Press Enterprise in Riverside, California that you write on your calendar the evening before what you want or need to accomplish the next day. Very successful people take it much further and plan out at least a year in advance what they are to accomplish and work their plan daily. Mind you this is much different from some wishful New Years Resolution that many of us (yours included) make at the start of a New Year!

They call it “working backwards.”  You start with the finished goal, and then work backwards in your written plans until you arrive to a daily action plan to get to your finished goal.  Great idea, hard to do; but worth it!

“The Key is not to prioritize what is on your schedule, but to schedule your priorities.” – Stephen R. Covey

That’s it for now. Hope I gave you some food for thought at the least and at the most inspired you to make your own action plans. If we don’t the days will slip by into months, the months into years, the years into decades; and then there will be no more time left to do what you really wanted to do.

Inspiring you to have more Wealth and Riches in every area of your life,

Dexter Black

Have read a couple of of the articles on your website now, and I truly like your style of blogging. I added it to my favorites weblog web site list and will probably be checking back soon.

  2. Thank you for your thoughtful present of having written this article. The message seems to be given to me specifically. Our son also had a lot to learn from this – though he was the individual that found your site first. Most of us can’t imagine a more superb present than a gift to encourage that you do more.

  3. Resources including the one you talked about here will be really helpful to me! I will publish a link to this web page on my weblog. I am certain my visitors will find that very helpful.
